Usually, my weekends are never as balanced as it was this weekend. I feel as though I am slowly getting into a brilliant routine lately, which is what I would like to share with you all.
My weekend started off with a very chilled Friday night in with my boyfriend, we decided to get take out and to just enjoy each others company. This was a brilliant way to get the weekend started as I instantly felt relaxed.
On Saturday morning I decided to get my lazy bum out of bed for a change and went and did the Parkrun at Century City. It was the best thing I did. This made me feel soooo good about myself and I felt energized for the day ahead. By just attending one Parkrun I already feel more motivated to get exercising again and to go to Parkrun more often.
A little bit later in the morning, my mom and dad came to visit me and we went for a drive along beach front in Tableview. I took my parents for lunch at Catch 22 for a scrumptious fish and chips. It was lovely, it was so good to spend some much needed time with my parents as I hadn’t seen them in just over a week and that is not normal for us! After lunch with my parents we did some grocery shopping together, I had already made a list of things I needed and have also planned my meals for the week ahead.
For the rest of my Saturday, I cleaned our flat and relaxed.
Sunday, I got to work on a new blog post and went out to lunch with my boyfriends family. We went to Tables at Nitida. The sun was out, it was a glorious spring day in Cape Town and the company at our table was great. The waiters are friendly and helpful and Nitida’s food and wine are impeccable, you cannot go wrong here. See photos below of our amazing dishes:
I ate the most incredible flatbread at Nitida and Shane had a delicious Fish and Chips which he mentioned he thoroughly enjoyed it.
For dessert, I had the vanilla sundae with flaked almonds, served in a wafer cup with homemade chocolate sauce. Shane enjoyed the Coconut Panna Cotta – served with a Pineapple Coulis, Passion Fruit Parfait, and a cardamom sable.
After an amazing Sunday, I began to start prepping my meals for the week ahead, this is the second week that I am doing this and I am finding it to be so easy and it makes the week so much easier and less fussy. This is something I will be adding to my routine from now on.
It has been a well rounded weekend for me, I got to achieve the following:
- Spent quality time with Shane
- Seeing my parents
- Had lunch with Shane’s family
- Managed to exercise
- Worked on my blog
- Planned my week ahead
- Meals are prepped for the week ahead
I would like to thank my boyfriend Shane and my family and friends for an amazing weekend. I love you all so much!!
