As the year draws to a close, there will always be times where we feel happy, sad, optimistic, pessimistic, overjoyed or even miserable. That is life and it happens to the best of us.

Whether we are feeling dull and gloomy in the morning, all we might need is a little pick me up to push onwards and upwards. We all have the ability to produce our own sunshine to get us through even the toughest days.

Other times we wake up full of beans where the sun beams fill our spirits. Those are great ways to start our days, but life isn’t perfect and we take the starts as they come!

Either way, I think we can all do with a bit more sparkle and dazzle to help us perform our own miracles and live life to the fullest.

So here are my most precious quotes and positive sayings that helps me get through my day whether it was a goody or a bady.

“Shower the people you love with love” – James Taylor

This is one of my most precious and true quotes. My daddy taught me this quote and he showered me in so much love that today as I walk in his shoes I shower all my family, friends, colleagues and my boyfriend with as much love as possible.

FAIL – Acronym for: First Attempt In Learning

Okay, so I know this isn’t a quote but my grade 7 teacher taught me this and it’s a good share. She taught us that we are not failures. We simply make mistakes and then learn lessons from them, which is why this has always stuck with me. I hate to use the word “fail” as it knocks my confidence. Lately, I have felt like a bit of a failure, but I always think back to this saying and I realise how much I have learnt thus far in my journey.

“An empty lantern provides no light. Self-care is the fuel that allows your light to shine brightly.” – Unknown

Many times, anxiety can take over or you just can’t find the energy to get out of bed. I don’t usually tell many people this but as a sufferer of epilepsy, practising self-care is extremely important to me as I need to ensure my body, mind and soul is at ease and not overloaded with anxiety. The above quote hit me right in the feels, it really spoke volumes to me and made me think about self-care and how much more of a role it should play in life. In a previous blog post I discuss this more in-depth, you can read more about my self-care routine here.

“Opportunities don’t happen, you create them.” – Chris Grosser

Another one of my all time favourite quotes, I have lived by this for many years. I am a big believer of the harder you work the more opportunities you create for yourself. Go that extra mile and you will reap the rewards. This quote has been more prevalent for me as I embark on trying out new things and chasing new opportunities for The Productive Planner.

“Nothing purchased can come close to the renewed sense of gratitude for having family and friends.” – Courtland Milloy

And lastly…this quote goes out to all my wonderful family and friends. I have been blessed with each one of you who have been with me through every step of the way. During the hard and great times. My heart is so full with love and gratitude for each one of you. I recently have been going through an extremely difficult time in my life but the amount of love and support I have received from my family and friends has truly made me feel overjoyed. I am truly so blessed. To my man Shane, I have no idea what I would do without you. You are my rock and I am forever grateful for the love that we share. Thank you for being there for me through everything. You are so special to me and I love you so much.

These quotes and sayings have always been my favourites and the words that get me up and going every day. I hope it brings you a little inspiration and puts a sparkle in your day.

Please comment below on what your all time favourite quote/s are. I would love to read them and add them to my ever growing motivational quotes list.
