Everything Beauty 2018, what an absolutely incredible experience. This is the first of its kind to hit Cape Town and is currently being held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 8 and 9 Dec 2018.
I have to admit, I was very under whelmed when I walked through the doors. I had a huge expectation of the event and was slightly disappointed. There was no goodie bags and there was not many stands. The event did end up being great fun and we learnt so much.
Each visitor was treated to a manicure by Morgan Taylor and a hand massage from Simply Bee. We also were able to attend some of the live demos and talks. All the talks and live demos were exceptionally well done and we walked away with bits of information that will help us to do our own makeup.
My favourite parts of the expo:
The free manicure and hand massage were tops and really worth the ticket prices.
We walked into the expo, wanting to learn more about foundation and eyeshadow. We loved that we got to attend a live demo just on doing foundation and eyeshadow (a complete natural day look). At the end of the show, we had our foundation matched and we purchased a new foundation.
It was so refreshing to know that most of the stands were either organic, cruelty free, vegan, Earth-friendly or hypo allergenic which catered for all types.
Our favourite stall was CEE MEE Cosmetics and Skincare, they had the best deals on their products. The best deal was that if you spent more than R100 you could make your own perfume. We bought foundation and qualified for the perfume deal. This was SO much fun to do and would totally do it again.
Another two favourite stands were the Wow Jude Facial Cloths and The Earth Shaker Glitter stand. Both these stands were all eco-friendly and so much fun to visit. We loved the amazing vibes they had at their stands and their products were such great deals. Defiantly check out their stand.
My least favourite parts:
There was unfortunately no goodie bags as we arrived. I absolutely LOVE going to an event and receiving a small goodie bag, it just ties an event so nicely together and makes the event more enjoyable. It would have been nice if we received a bag with a free magazine (as advertised on the event page). It made walking around the expo collecting flyers, business cards and samples a mission, especially if you had a small hand bag like we did today.
The café stand was overpriced and very slow for the amount of people who were placing orders for coffee.
We enjoyed each one of the stands and each one truly catered to our needs, however there was not many stands available and a bigger variety would have been much better. It seemed a bit empty to us which is why it was quite underwhelming.
Here’s what you can expect to see at the expo:
- Free manicures to each visitor by Morgan Taylor;
- Loads of special offers, deals, promotional packs and Christmas specials;
- Free samples at selected stands;
- A chance to meet few celebrity make up artists, speakers and bloggers/influencers;
- Free hand massages courtesy of Simply Bee;
For a cost of R100 (tickets at the door) it is so worth receiving a free manicure, hand massage, and samples at selected stands.
If you are a beauty fundie, Everything beauty 2018 is a true shopping experience. Make sure you bring enough cash and a big handbag.
